High performance Ultegra hydraulic disc brake Di2 STI’s give you control, modulation and power with minimal effort in
all riding conditions.
The Shimano Ultegra R8050 Di2 Dual Control Levers blend Shimano’s category-leading hydraulic disc brakes and Di2
electronic shifting. They feature an updated button feel and layout ensuring quick, precise shifting even while
wearing thick gloves. The new levers also feature a greater range of reach adjust and a programmable ST button
switch stop the hood.
With a low-profile Flat Mount design, the Shimano Ultegra R8000 series hydraulic disc brakes provide greater control
in all conditions without interrupting the aero lines of road bikes.
Technology
Ice Technologies
The fade, which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a
negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice Technologies disc brake rotor and Ice
Technologies pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad disc brake rotor blade,
which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better
radiation performance. Also, the radiation fin has been adopted for the pad. Moreover, the clad disc brake rotor
blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.
Ice Technologies piston in order to achieve optimized lightweight, high rigidity and heat
dissipation. Oversized pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad, and ceramic material is used
to avoid heat transfer for constant stable braking, providing efficient stopping power transfer without loss.
One Way Bleeding
“One Way Bleeding” was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in our hydraulic system. We have streamlined
the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system.
One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
Dual Control Lever
DCL stands for Dual Control Lever. It has brake and shifting functions in the system and enables easy operation.
Ergonomic innovation is probably more critical to the higher standard performance than the added gearing. The shift
internals borrow the robustness from our MTB technology and are so smooth and effortless that one finger shifts
front and rear are possible. Indeed, shifting is the ultimate act of Shimano Total Integration, and simply has
to be experienced to be understood.
The Dura-Ace / Ultegra / 105 Dual Control Lever have an optimized structure with features that include the lighter
weight pivot section in the near side of the shifting unit and the integral shifting cable for lighter steering.
Its
many component parts are made so compact and precise to achieve unprecedented high-speed performance.
Free Stroke
The distance from initial lever position to pad contact point can be adjusted to suit any hand size, type of riding
and individual rider preferences.
E-Tube
E-Tube is Shimano’s “service” that uses websites or apps to maximize the enjoyment of riding a bicycle by connecting
the riders, the bicycles and Shimano.
Shimano’s genuine application E-Tube Project for Mobile allows you to customize your bike, update firmware, and
maintain it by connecting it wirelessly to your bike. You can also get the more detailed bike maintenance by
connecting to your bike by wire with E-Tube Project for Windows V4 application.
Reach Adjust
Brake lever is equipped with a reach adjust mechanism. The distance from handlebar grip to lever can be adjusted to
suit any hand size, type of riding and individual rider preferences.
