New mechanical Ergopower Super Record 12×2 Speed Disc Brake controls: more ergonomic, more precise, more powerful
and easier to maintain.
Comfort, control, speed and responsiveness are some of the main features of a bike’s controls, helping keep all
situations under control. The new mechanical controls for the Ergopower Super Record 12×2 Speed Disc Brake offer an
ergonomic, comfortable and safe support and grip thanks to Vari-Cushion technology, essential for those who stay on
the saddle for several hours.
The controls’ inner workings are a concentration of technology and experience, starting with the “one lever-one
action” function, which assigns each lever a single function, helping avoid shifting errors at tired or distracting
moments, and then continue with the multiple shifting option which allows up- or downshifting by up to 5 sprockets
at a time thanks to the Ultra-Shift mechanism. This function allows you to maintain cadence even in case of sudden
changes of incline or rhythm, with speed and ease as useful as it is surprising.
In addition, it features a number of extremely useful functions, such as the adjustability of the levers; the Reach
Adjustment function enables the brake lever to be brought closer to the low grip for riders with smaller hands, and
the AMS Adjustment allows the rider to select two different settings in order to modulate the braking power: “Short”
for an immediate, direct effect, or “Long” for more modulated, controlled brakings.
The Super Record Disc Brake brake levers are engineered with a double curvature for improved grip and are lightened
with two slots that are added to the one dedicated to Reach Adjustment.
Technology
One-Lever One-Action
The EPS system Control levers are positioned and act according to the same logic as Campagnolo mechanical gear
levers.
Lever 1 brake
Lever 2 up-shifting
Lever 3 down-shifting
Just like the mechanical versions, the levers are natural and intuitive to use. Activating the levers reproduces and
follows the movement of the chain on the sprockets.
For example, lever 2 of the right Ergopower, which is pressed from right to left, moves the rear derailleur and
makes chain shift up by one sprocket from right to left, copying the exact movement.
Ultra-Shift System
The Ultra-Shift control by Campagnolo is regarded by everyone as the fastest and most precise. Thanks to the
Ultra-Shift patented system; you can move the chain simultaneously up 3 sprockets and then 5 down.
Furthermore, the lever design allows for an ever lighter shifting, whilst maintaining the “click” sound featured on
all Campagnolo controls.
ErgoPower Controls
Ergonomics
The shape of the body conforms to your hands perfectly. The body of the control reproduces exactly the asymmetry
of the human hand. This increases the contact with the palm and allows for various riding positions, ensuring
maximum safety in all riding positions.
Comfort
The shape allows you to easily reach the levers, regardless of your riding position and the size of your hands.
The studies conducted on the position of cyclists’ hands, showed three different steering positions depending on
the course and the steering style. Based on these studies, Campagnolo® created the particular and exclusive form
of the Ergopower controls that enable you to steer with safety and comfort. The Vari-Cushion system is the shock
absorber that envelops the body of the controls.
The particular geometry of the hoods made of material of variable density, stretchy and hypoallergenic, absorbs
vibrations, enabling you to stay in the saddle for many hours without hand fatigue.
Effective Breaking
The lever’s Ultra-Shift shape lets you squeeze the brakes with greater power.
In particular, it allows you to brake powerfully and promptly when the hands are gripping high up. This is a plus
that will allow professionals to chat with greater peace of mind before getting on with the serious business.
Features
- Comfortable body: The controls enable a solid, safe grip when pedalling out of the saddle or gripping high on
the handlebar - Rapid shifting: Immediate shifting engagement enables activating the front derailleur with minimum effort and in
any hand position on the bar - Multiple action: An unplanned ascent, a sudden jerk: it takes barely a moment to find the right ratio owing to
the multiple action of the controls - Ergonomic: The shape of the body and the possibility to adjust the reach enable all cyclists to use these
controls, regardless of the size of their hands or fingers - Upshifting Lever Integration: More space under the control body when gripping the Ergopower control
- Disc Calipers: Flat mount disc only, to be compatible with the latest frame technology
